This document contains frequently asked questions about famous hauntings, urban legends, and ghostly phenomena in general. I wrote the bulk of this FAQ in 1993-1994 for the newsgroup alt.folklore.ghost-stories. I posted it there monthly for over six years, until midway through 2000. At that time I withdrew the FAQ from USENET circulation due to a variety of factors. It has been housed on this website since shortly after its conception. Please direct any comments about the FAQ or its contents to obiwan@ghosts.org.
Section I of the FAQ contained information about USENET and the alt.folklore.ghost-stories newsgroup. That information has been removed since it is now irrelevant. The rest of the FAQ is still relevant and informative, and is updated periodically.
