Here are some of the interesting things people wrote about their experiences. These were answers to 2 different questions, but many of them were similar so I just combined the results.
Don't know if it was a haunting, poltergeist or the overactive imagination of a child.
Saw out of the corner of my eye what I thought was a bright piece of dust - when I looked, it turned a corner. Sounds came when I was in the basement and distinctly heard someone walk thru my kitchen, den and on down the hall. The floor had a distinctive sound when someone walked on it. It squeeked in the same places when walked on. My husband also walked into a "wall of ice cold air".
I go up to visit my dad in the summer,(I'm 16 years old) sometimes. And they always put me upstairs, I hate it up there, with the big attic door right by the room I have to stay in, I've always been very uhm. anxious to see a ghost, because that house is so old(1901), but very scared to experience something "supernatural". Anyway to get on with my story; Every night, I get some water, turn of all the lights in the house, with the exception of the small dining room light, which I keep dimmed. So that night(and pretty much every night for that matter)I got up at around one something A.M., and went downstairs to get some water, when I came downstairs, every light was turned on, and the one that is usually dimmed, was on full brightness. I talked to my dad and stpe-mom the next day to find out, if they were playing tricks on me, and obviously they weren't, but they told me that sometimes, while they're sleeping, their T.V. would turn on and off during the course of the night, repeadeatly waking them up. But that they said only happens once in a while.
Not sure how to put into words.
It was a Demon that I summoned when just kidding around and playing with the book The Necronomicon. I was15 at the time and am now 27. The only person who ever believed me was my sister, 3 years my senior.
My experiences some times seem like its all in my head but when its continuous you deffinetly know there
something and ive learned to live with it
thank you!
Me and my brother were at Gettysburg a
year ago, and we were at the top of
Little Round Top and we were looking
down at Devil's Den, and saw this bright
orange torch like thing coming from
there. It was very dark out, and there
was no way this way a flash light. We
had binoculars and we looked and saw
no one there, or no cars. The light
kept flickering off and on. It's only a
minute drive there, so we took off to
see what it was. When we got to Devil's
Den, we didn't see any more light. There
was no one there and no cars. It was
really strange. We're still not sure
what it was. It was very exciting,
though. My brother and I are very
interested in ghosts, and go to
Gettysburg all the time, to go ghost
hunting.
I was with my friend. We were going into the building when the door opened about 3 feet then slammed in our faces.
The first time was the "ghost"(?) of my grandfather telling me goodbye..... Second and third times were at the haunted Cresent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Really cool and kind of exhilerrating.
I've had many experiences throughout my life, most of which have been traditional "ghosts....but a rare few have been directly confrontational, attacking me outright.
I have sensed movement from the corner of my eye. When I look, there is nothing there. The touching I have felt is never associated with these movements.
Heard footsteps always going the same way in the hallway and would stop at the dining room doorway
Smelled bacon cooking in kitchen in middle of night when everyone was upstairs.
I'm not really sure
the smell of roses was in the air when no flowers were in the room at the time.
When I was about 14 my mom was pregnant with her fifth child. I was
in that strange privacy stage of life, so I would sleep with my bedroom
door locked at night. One early morning I was awakened by my
younger brother shaking my shoulder, yelling at me to get up. I
rolled over and swatted at him, telling him to get out of my room
and leave me alone. Instead of leaving my room, he vanished right
before my eyes. I sat up in bed, jumped up and UNLOCKED my bedroom
door. When I went into the hallway, my brother was in the bathroom
mopping up blood from the bathroom floor. My mom had been taken to
the hospital hemorraging. Unfortuanately the baby died. This
really happened. I've gone over it a million times in my head, and
I definitely had the bedroom do or locked. All I can deduece was
that somehow I must have subconsiously known something was wrong.
But it still creeps me out to this day.
Almost everytime a close relative or friend passed away I would be
thinking about them at the time usually all day long. Once I distin
ctly heard footsteps walking through my parents house just before I
heard my Aunt died. In one old apartment I lived in, the doorknobs
turned by themselves a couple of times. At the same place footsteps
appeared in the snow leading to the yard and stopped dead at the
fence, where a house once stood. Once I was in a college classroom
late at night and for about a minute, the room filled with voices as
if a lab class was present. Two voices, a male and female, coming
from the center could be distinguished. I have no clue what it was
about, I was the only person in the building.
I really can't explain my experiences or if I have ever seen or felt a ghost. I do that I felt weird in that position I was in.
The main poltergeist haunting was when I was a child and we lived in Fallingbostel (Germany) which is very close to the Belsen concentration camp. A lot of the flats in the area were haunted.
Oddly enough, it's not what I heard, it's what I didn't here. I was in the woods in the middle of June in the middle of the day and I heard no animals or birds. I was taking a little investigative stroll through Dudley Town CT.
I was really scared!
Their home was about a year old, but the apparition seemed to be about a hundred years old. She was transparent. My brother and I saw her as we were coming up the steps. She wore long, loose clothing that appeared to be blowing in the wind.
You should get some stories about Demons, such as in my experience. I haven't E- mailed it to you yet, I'm still trying to decide if I should or not. It was TERRIFYING.
After I had to put my beloved cat (13 yrs old) to sleep,
My husband and I distinctly heard him meow in the
kitchen in his usual "begging" spot.....My husband and
I were in two separate rooms at the time.
Our church is very old as is our town. The body of a soldier (Baron Dekalb) is buried out front. He died back in the 1700's while involved in battle.
I love ghost stories, but I honestly don't believe that
spirits or demons come to earth to "haunt" humans. HOWEVER,
my brother works in the sales office for a large estate in
the southern U.S. that has been turned into a conference center.
Over the Christmas holidays, my husband and I were lucky
enough to be able to stay in one of the beautifully refurbished
rooms for a night. While we were touring the place, my
brother began to tell us about guests who had heard strange
noises during their stay, and I immediately stopped him. Despite
my skepticism, I only slept about two hours that night. I
figured if I were ever going to see a ghost, this would be
the place! I'm very glad I didn't, and I feel a little foolish
about it now.
We lived in an area of Germany (Fallingbostel) whichis near the big gas chambers used in WWII - we were not the only people to experience things!
I lived in this house from the age of 4 to 11. Strange things happened and I always felt uneasy. I can't remember a time feeling secure in this house. I saw things out of the corner of my eye and heard a lot of noises. Other members of my family saw things.
I SEE MY GRANDFATHERS AND MY GRANDMOTHER ALL THE TIME.
There's no such thing as ghosts, but there are such things as spirits. People call ghosts and spirits the same thing, but there are only spirits. Ghosts are fiction.
I've had a couple of things happen. One was with an Ouija board and is to long to go into here. The most recent was that I woke up one night because I distinctly felt like someone was in the room with me. When I woke up I heard my music box playing (it plays "Music of the Night" from the Phantom of the Opera), but it stopped seconds after I woke up. I still felt like someone was there but managed to go back to sleep. The strange thing is the music box can't play unless you open it and it wasn't opened and it also hadn't been wound up in weeks. Maybe a ghost was just passing through. I'm not sure.
I heard foot steps and and heard them stop right over my bedroom ceiling.
These are some general comments people had.
Why I marked ghost was beacause I felt chills and I turned around and to my suprise there was a ghost! I guess it noticed me because it then vanished in front of my eyes and then I heard this loud BOOM!!! I was pretty shaken-up so I never told anyone afraid they won't belive or send me to a shrink.
I think this Web page is very creative and is doing a very good job!!!
I think that this page is the coolest page on theis net
I feel that you should focus your attention on the TRUE stories of the Indian res. I have alot of family that live in Arizona, the stories they tell would make your skin crawl! Forget how haunted England ,Ireland , and the rest of Europe is . THE REAL DEAL IS CLOSE TO HOME.
A suggestion for a poll topic...(if it wasn't done already), Haunted Hotels....where, how, etc. I'm kind of curious about which hotels are haunted and where they are at. By the way....congratulations on the baby!!!
Hi! This is my first time on this web page, and it is very interesting. Keep up the great work. If you can, please
