Sleep? Wuzzat?

Been driving 24 hours straight with pit stops for calls to the mole, gas, food, etc. (straaaange writings on the restroom walls out here).

Blew the Studebaker's trans outside Wichita and had to dump it. Picked up an El Camino. The hardware (if you know what I mean, and I think you do) is under a tarp in the back.

Listened to the radio all night while packing away the Quisp, the Sour Patch families, and of course the chocolate-covered coffee beans; mostly preachers (now I know where those strange restroom writings come from) who've convinced me that I'm on a mission from God. In fact, God himself has been traveling in the passenger seat since Pueblo, CO. He fades in and out every so often (to answer someone's prayers, I guess) but mostly he's there.

Why do my eyes burn so?

Arrove in Vegas a little while ago and stopped in front of this casino that looks like New York City. For an awful moment I thought I'd got myself turned around but then I realized that NYC doesn't have a roller coaster looping around the Empire State Building. Not yet anyway.

I really need a shower, but I'm denying myself such luxuries until I've completed my mission.

Ate a good breakfast -- steak, eggs Benedict, bagels, hash browns, sausage, bacon, three carafes of coffee -- while I discussed my plans with God. Don't worry. No one was sitting near us. I mean, there were people around when we sat down but they pretty quick moved away. People around here are very considerate that way.

God informed me that Lindsay Lohan, having demonstrated her facility with dual roles in "The Parent Trap" remake, has been hired to play Kusum =and= Kolabati. The revelation prompted a little trip to a munitions fair out in the desert to purchase a Sidewinder missile.

This shall not pass. I cannot fail because the Lord is with me. (At least he was a moment ago. Where'd he go?)

Westward ho.
