story This is a story my grandfather told me once. When I say once, I mean it. It was a while ago, and I could be elaborating on it, but only a little. If I do, I apologize. There are others, but this is one I think other people would find most interesting because there may be others who know about this. It's about the lights in Hornet. I don't remember if it's Mississippi or Misourri.

At any rate, at one time my grandfather took a trip to see them. He had heard about them and wanted to see them for himself. He got there-there is apparently a field outside of town, and stood up at the road with other people who had come for the same reason. It was some time after dusk. Presently, an orange globe, like someone carrying a lantern, started bobbing along the horizon.

My grandfather decided he was going to go down and see what it was. Some other people tried to convince him not to go, but he decided he would. He walked down off the road. The feild wasn't totally level, and he had to go down some gullys and when he got to the top of one very close to where he judged the globe to have been, it wasn't there! He looked around, but it was no where to be seen. He walked back, and when he turned back at the road, it was back again!

This made him a little upset. Some of the people asked him what it looked like close up, and he said, "It wasn't there, didn't you see it dissaper and come back when I got back?" One of the others there replied, "No, it didn't go away, it floated right around you the whole time you were there! Are you sure you didn't see it?"

When I was told it, my grandfather swore to me that it was true. I was about five, but it was easy to tell when my grandfather was kidding me. Anyone else who was there when my grandfather was can attest to this. You have only to find them if you don't believe me.

story This story is short but true. It happened to me when i was about 5 years old or so,my mom had asked me to go to her bedroom and get something for her. Our house is considered a decent size to ppl that visit so to a 5 year old it is huge,I remember that my grandparents were there for dinner along with my sisters and dad.Iwent to there room as i was told and i remember walking up to my mom's make-up mirror. the mirror has 1 in front and 2 mirrors right next to them.I was always fasinated to go in there so i can see all of her make up. As i went up to the mirror i started to look around and someone said my name so i looked up expecting to see someone but as i looked up and into the mirror i saw the figure of my grandmother in the mirror. It wasn't like a figure when you look at yourself it was more of a glowing image with just her hair and a very faint picture of her face. I was petrified. i went to get what i was told and as i was walking back to the living room through the hallway i looked and saw my shadow along with the shadow of what i saw in the mirror following me. I ran as fast as i could to the other side of the house and asked if anyone had been in the room while i was there. To my amazement they all said no and where shocked to hear my story,my little sister later told me that she to is for some reason scared to be in the house alone. Our house was the first built on the block so i knew noone else lived there prior. My parents still live there and have never had any strange experiences, but as for me i refuse to ever go in the room alone or stay there myself.

story When I was about 11 my parents decided it was time to move the family out to the country. They bought about 800 acres. On this 800 acres there was trees in a certain area and in the trees there was an old homestead, well actually it was just the foundation of an old house. The house it self no longer stood, but the concrete foundation was there. Any way it was first planned that our house would also be built in the treed area, but later it was decided to build right outside of the trees. The owners of this old homestead were a couple that had escaped from the holocaust in Germany and somehow ended up on the property. I don't know much about this couple other than what I just said. As I was growing up I always sensed a precence. I would often go and play in the treed area but of course I never went out there after dark, and neither did my brother and sister. So at night I would sit in my house and often times I would see somebody looking in at me. It was always a woman and never the man. She never came into our home, but would just look in. I never felt that she was threating in anyway, just curious.

The man though would come into the house. I remember once I was asleep and for some reason I awoke to find this figure/shadow sitting on the edge of my bed. It was wierd because I remember I could see through him, but I didn't feel threatened and I fell back asleep. I didn't feel his presence in the house as often as I would feel the womans outside the house. Upon going outside I would always feel like somebody was watching me especially when I went in the treed area. We cleaned up and threw away all the would that was around the old homestead for never touched the wood on the inside. Now upon thinking back I remember that we never went into the foundation, it just seemed wierd!

Sorry this was so long!

story This story is true. It happened to my grandmother 2 years ago and it involved my uncle and my aunt. I know that this is true because my grandmother is really religous and she never lies to anyone.

My uncle had been ill for quite some time and had to have an operation that was supposedly meant to cure him of his illness. He had his operation that night, except the surgical procedure went wrong and he was even more sick then before. As my uncle rested in the hospital private ward, my aunt and my grandmother prayed to God that s/he would not take my uncle away. hours passed and my aunt eventually fell asleep, but my grandmother was still wide awake with anxiety. My grandmother could not stay still and decided to get something to eat from the vending machine down the corridoor. As she drank coffee and ate her muffin, at 1:03am she heard a distinct closing of the door of my uncle's room and footsteps walking down to the exit. She knew that it was my uncle's room because it was the only room in the ward. At first she thought that my aunt had gone out for a smoke, but out of nowhere a figure of my uncle walked towards her and said he came to say goodbye and he said that he l! ! oved her and his wife and everyone else in the family, but it was his time and he had to go. Naturally, my grandmother thought that he was only saying these stuff because he had been haevily sedated. Still in shick that he had recovered so quickly, she didn't notice that he had gone. My grandmother walked back to the ward, ready to scold her daughter for leaving the room, hence enabling my uncle to walk around the hospital unsupervised. But as she entered the room, my aunt was all teary and she told her that my uncle had passed away. My grandmother was shocked and asked her at what time did he pass away, and my aunt said 1:03am, it was even written on his record that he died at 1:03am. My grandmother was startled and clearly in shock. She told my aunt what had happened and the two began to cry.

That's all i can say, but all i told is true.

story My ghost story began about four years ago. My family and I moved into our new home which happens to be about one hundred years old. We were getting settled in and talking to people about our home and all the work we had to do to fix it up. It was then we heard the story of the little boy of the previous owners. He had drowned many years back. This was a little creepy to because their is a pond on our property, and I have four small children to worry about. I did some asking around and was relieved to find out that it did not happen in our pond. It was several days later that I began to notice odd things, such as our t.v. turning back on by itself and many of my kids toys being moved or played with long after they had gone to bed. I tried to explain it to myself as just being the new house. Then I met our neighbor. She was worried that there may still be an old water trough out at the barn, and was concerned for our kids.I assured her there was not anything out there. T! ! hat is when she told me the story of the little girl who had drowned in it almost one hundred years ago.She remembered the story being told to her. Ireally could not believe that there were two young children that had lived in this house and had drowned. I was a little worried now and started to pay more attention to the strange things going on in the house. I would hear toys being played with and would many times sense a presence around me. There would also be times when our dog would act crazy and chase around what seemed like nothing to me. But the most chilling part of the story was yet to happen. On March 27,1996 our 18 month old daughter wandered out of our sight while we were outside working. We began to look for her and after a few minutes I started to panic, then it was if someone or something took control of me. I ran to our pond and floating face down in the cold water was my precious baby. Iran into the water and grabbed her. She was very cold, blue, and not breathin! ! g. After I gathered my thoughts I began CPR as my husband called 911. Thank God this story has a happy ending because she came out of the ordeal perfectly healthy and normal. I still get visits from my little ghosts but I am no longer alarmed, I believe that the spirits of those other lost babies did not want to see any more drownings at this house.

story I was a Navy Corpsman stationed at the Naval Regional Medical Center Camp Pendelton Calf. I was there in the mid 1970s. I was assigned to the medical intensive care unit. The first patient I was charged with was a crusty old retired Naval Chief. This guy would cuss you up one side and down the other for very minor things. Well his conditioned deterioated to the point of having to be placed on a respirator. Having done this it was imposible to speak. This did not slow his anger in the least. To make a long story short he wrote to us that he would "get us back" for all the things he had to undergo. What he didnt understand was the "torture" we put him thru was thearpys of different types. Well this poor guy went thru this for about a year. I was working the night tour and at 1:30 am it was apparent he was dying. I started wrighting notes and getting the ekg machine working. We had non-resusation orders on this fellow, so I sat by his bedside to try and comfort him. At th! ! e excat time his heart stopped my pen ran out of ink, the stop clock above his bed started by its self, and the ekg machine ran out of paper. This all happened within 1-2 min. As any medical tech knows as ekg paper gets to the last 5 min (of paper) a red mark is imprinted on the roll. This roll didnt have the marks visible. I have seen LOTS of people die since as I am now a Paramedic and have never seen this type of stuff ever again.

Ok, my friends and I lived on this Navy Base and there was this old hospital across the street. Everyone always told us it was haunted, but we didnt believe them. So to prove that we weren't scared of ghost we went down there. The ghost was supposed to be a old man, without legs(he got them blown out in the war). There is a picture in the top of the hospital with survivors of the war and he was in it. There is no record of him being in the picture or even in the Navy. So thats who people say is downn in the basement. So we took the elevator down to the basement. As soon as we got down there we were already creeped out, because there were tons of old stuff that hadnt been used for years. All of a sudden my friend said, "hey dude look at this." So I looked and it look like a head was peering out the side of the hall-way. We were freaked out, and we just stood there. Soon enough it disapeared and we heard a bang noise. My friend Aaron was not nezt anymore just his brother. His b! ! rother was freaking out and yealling. We heard another bang noise and an old I.V. dropped to the floor, then an old hospital wheel bed. We ran like heck and we saw him. A full figured man with a cigar in his hand and no legs in this little navy suit.He was a gleamycolor allmost see through and he scared the jeebers out of us. We ran to the stair case and the door wouldn't open. So we ram do the elevator and it wouldn't open. So we ran to the other stair case and got up to the main floor. Aaron was sitting in the chair shivering like he fell in ice cold water. 2 months later people went down there to rebuild, but said something was down there. So they nebver rebuilt down there again.

Ever since that day I believe in ghost and won't let anybody tell me there not real, because that day I felt like death had brushed me bye.

story I had just returned to bed one night, at home after getting a glass of water, when I looked off to my right and saw a classmate of mine, who lived twenty miles away, leaning on my wall. "We have a meeting," he said. I retreated under the covers and tried to sleep. A few weeks later, I was at a campground at Rocky Mountain National Park, when it became dark out, and needing a flashlight, I headed off to my tent to get one. As I was rummaging in the dark tent, I heard rustling in the bushes. I stepped out again, and there was my classmate Chris once more. Although it was late at night, Chris' face reflected a twilight-colored light. He pointed to the sky. "Look. You can see all the Milky Way. I looked up ,and the sky was dotted with hundreds of stars. I walked back down to the fire pit, hearing Chris' footsteps behind me. As I turned on my light, I remembered that Chris hadn't come on this camping trip! I looked behind me and up. Chris was gone and the sky was black and ! ! starless.

story I have so many stories, I could go on forever telling tales of my supernatural experiences! But for today, I shall tell one, short story. I lived in a very small town which consisted of 2 streets and nothing more. We had a library and a general store and that was pretty much it! But we did have the most beautiful, old graveyard. Being a lover of graveyards, I used to walk around in that place for hours, just reading all the old headstones. One day, on one of my many trips to this graveyard, I saw an old lady standing over one of the older graves. Being a small town, I thought I knew everyone and I didn't recognize this lady. She was a stout little woman wearing a black shirt and a long, blue skirt. She wore a black scarf around her gray hair. She didn't say anything, she didn't do anything. She merely stood over that old grave with a very solemn look upon her face. I watched her as I approached the cemetary. A tree was in my way of my view of the woman, so ! ! naturally, I walked behind the tree (rather than into it:)); but when I had a clear view of the woman again, she was gone! It was a matter of seconds. I started to look around. She couldn't have been hiding anywhere. If she had walked away, I would have seen her. And she didn't look agile enough to try to run away! I walked over to the grave she was gazing upon and saw the name of a woman who had died in her late years in the 1940's. I can't help but wonder if it was that woman's grave and her spirit decided to visit.

story I visit Gettysburg,PA often and one day upon arriving at our hotel[The Gettysburg Hotel circa 1797]I took some pictures of my family "horsing around" in our room and then we went out onto the battlefield. Right above "Devils Den" there is a place called "The triangular field" and is also my most favorite place of all the battlefields. There are several large rocks and i always sit on one particular rock and take in the scenery and imagine the confederate soldiers running up through this field and a lot of times I take pictures. But this time was different, I felt a strange feeling this time. Strange indeed, when I got my film developed the only pictures that came out were the ones I took of my family playing in the hotel room. Every picture I took of the "Triangular Field" did not come out. Even the negatives were blank. Freaked me out! But I have to say I'm glad because I always knew that Gettysburg is the most haunted place in America!
