When I was about 8 or so (around 1970) my mum, dad and I went on holiday to Hastings. We had a great deal of trouble finding somewhere to stay - dad never booked ahead - and after spending 1 night in the car, we managed to get a room in a B&B above a souvenir shop. Being an inquisitive child, I searched the room high and low and checked under hte bed for monsters. The first night was incident free, but on the second, I found a small teddy peeking out from inder the bed. I took it to b ed with me that night. During the night, I had a very disturbing nightmare about an old woman in a black cloak coming and trying to steal me away out the window. My mum and dad woke up having had a dream about someone trying to take me away. The rest of the night they couldn't sleep because of the sound of someone being violently sick. At breakfast the nest morning, they asked who had been ill the night beofre. No one owned up to being responsible for the noise. Dad then asked the landlor d if the teddy belonged to the child who had the room before, only to be told that there had been no children in that room for weeks. We left for Glasgow that day, and we didn't take the teddy with us.

I read the story "baby dream" and it made me think of something that happened to me. This may sound alot like the story, but I swear it is true. When I was pregnant with my son, we were very poor. We lived with my husband's parents, and my mother in law and I fought almost constantly. In fact, she pushed me once while I was at least 8 months along, and I fell over a chair. I had bruises. I was depressed and lost hope, and thought about putting my baby up for adoption. I already had a daughter, and was not happy with the life she had. I wanted her to have better. Well, that night I dreamed that I had, in fact, put my son up for a d option. I resented my husband, for I blamed him for the circumstances that led me to make my decision, so I left home and my daughter and I went to a shelter. I must have befriended my son's new parents, because they let me keep him from time to time. I remember holding him and crying when I saw them pull up to pick him up. They were in a red Jeep Cherokee. I composed myself and returned him, but as I watched them drive away, I broke down, saying over and over that I wanted my baby back. Well, that was enough for me. I knew I definately did not want to give my child up, and no matter what happened, we would be happy together. I didn't realize it until months later, but looking at pictures of him when he was 2 months old, I realized he looked exactly like the baby in the dream. No one believes me. They shrug it off as a coincedence, but I just know.

I swear to God this is true!
i was on aol and i put on my away message for a few minutes while i helped my mom do something. As soon as I was done, I walked back to the third floor and walked into the computer room. my room is right down the hall. as I sat down, was getting ready to turn off my away message when I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. They then made their way in the direction of my room. i heard my door open. I thought it was just my mom checking whether my room was clean or not. I went in there and there was of course no one there. i called for my mom and she said she had been on the first florr and hadn't left there since she got home. It really freaked me out.
Now, my house turned 100 this year (2003) so that explains this story two ways:1. the old house made noises, but how did the door open? 2. there was a ghost or something like that that walked up the steps and into my room.
thanks for reading my story. It helps a lot to tell people about this because it scared me a lot.

First of all, don't put my e-mail address on the site. I wish to be unknown still. I shall call myself C.S.K.
Title & Subject:Individual Hauntings
Story: I am not going to use real ppl or ages in this story to keep me and my friends safe.
I'm 17. I have had some weird experiences with ghosts in my life, and they've been bugging me and I hate it. So I'm gonna tell you about them.
Friends: Pinky & Mystical Mischief
Me: Crystal
A couple years ago, truthfully I was 4, I was left alone while watching the Lion King in our old den. My brother had shut the door tightly. I swear. I was in the scene with Scar and the hyenas when the doorknob turns and the door opens. Nobody is there. I get creeped out cause it's the middle of summer, the air conditioning's off, and I feel like it's the middle of winter. So I run out crying for mom. She tells me it was probably a wind from a closing door down the hall. But how can a closing door wind open a CLOSED DOOR?
Fast forward to when I'm 8 years old. My mom and I are alone in our house. No dad or brothers. We're both downstairs and it's about noon. I am watching a couple movies (Mary Poppins!) and my mom is in the living room, alone without any noise. I get up, leaving the TV on, and walk in. I sit down next to her and we start talking. The TV turns off and Cuban Music turns on. I didn't have one of the remotes for either one. And there was no power surge. I turn the Cuban Music off, and the TV turns itself back on. Freaky!
2 years later to when I'm 10. Then I realized there was a ghost in our house (with persuasion from Pinky and MM) and when I was 9 we talked at a Cici's Pizza about the ghosts haunting us. Pinky has a ghost named Tom who haunts her house and died in a car crash at age 16. MM has a little kid she saw die. I have my little friend from above, who I have seen now, and I have named her Shihatsu. In the middle of that conversation a strong breeze, just breeze, comes in even though there are no windows open and nobody opened a door. I think it was her Shihatsu. Her name came from a character I made up. It's one of my comic book characters and I made the character look like her. Yes it's a she. She hasn't done any damage, exept freak our dog out a lot more than usual, so I don't bring her up much. Other things happened after those 3 things I put above, but they're not worht telling.

I was in my backyard just having a ciggarette, and i looked toward the back of our garage (detached form the rest of the house), and i felt someone watching me. Then i saw a 3-D shadowy figure in the shape of a tall man come from behind our garge. It walked along the side of our fence and walking right trhough the fence! The fence wasnt even open., it just went right through. I ran upstairs to get my gun, i had no clue what it was or if it would try to do anything to hurt my family. If anyone can tell us about this shadow figure i'd appreciate it. Please email bombshellsandwich@hotmail.com or trecool5150@hotmail.com, thank you. -C.B.

This is only one story of my Mom coming back after she passed away. This is the latest... I always get up early, make my coffee, get online and have some "quiet time". I don't smoke inside the house and usually go to the back deck after I have had my first cup of coffee for a cigarette. I was coming back in after my smoke and caught an aroma of my Mom's perfume. It smelled like rosebuds. It was a very strong scent. I thought to myself... "Mom, you're back again aren't you ? " (since this is not the first time she has "been around" since her death) I then poured myself another cup of coffee, came back to my laptop only to find that I had been booted. MY laptop NEVER shuts down from AOL. I looked at the screen and saw an earlier email from my cousin whom my Mom just adored. The email was dated the SAME DAY my Mom died 2 years ago. Since I didn't have anything to do with opening that particular email I knew Mom had been around... again. I have several more stories to share about her presence after her death that I will email at a later date.

I've been reading all the stories and decided that I'd submit this story. It is true and just happened yesterday!
I got up at 7:30am to get ready to go to work. Once I was dressed and everything, I went to the kitchen to get breakfast and was standing in front of the refrigerator with the door open. As I was standing there looking at the ingredients on a jar, I felt like someone was there with me. I turned to see what or who was there and I saw a older woman's face very close to my face. It was only her face. There has never been a woman to live in the house that's not still alive. Her face was very stern...noone's face that I've ever seen before. Just kind of freaked me out!
Other strange things happen in that house, but they always involve a man. He is more than likely mt fiance's grandfather who used to live there but past away 4 years ago. He did not die in our house, but he did build the house himself, so he probably wants to stick around because of the memory of that house.
As for the woman....we have no idea!

About 1995 or so i was sharing an apartment with several friends. chris and I shared the finished attic as a bedroom and music rehersal room. The attic was large and had two beds a drum kit, guitars, and amps. The room generally had a lot of activity as one would imagine. The house was a very old victorian and had a lot of people pass through it over the years. We had not had any strange experiences in the year we had lived there but the former tenants who were friends of mine reported that they sometimes felt uncomfortable at night.
One night I went up to the attic to practice on the bass guitar by myself as my roommates were downstairs. Since we had been playing earlier that day the first thing I did was to turn the volume knob on the amp down to level three, since turning on the power with the volume up on ten causes a loud, static noise. I began to play and really jam out for about fifteen minutes or so when all of a sudden the volume got so loud it almost blew my eardrums out. I was completely starteled and figured that I must have blown the amp out or maybe one of the bass guitars pickups. However when I looked at the amplifier I noticed that the volume knob was turned to level ten!!! I was frozen in my tracks for what seemed like five minutes, I was shaking and could feel all my body hair standing on end. I turned of the amp and went downstairs were my roommates asked if I had just seen a ghost. I said no but I think there is one up there.

This happened about 3 days ago, im writing this Thursday, June 30. It was about 3:00 PM and we were visiting my moms friend. It was sunny out, a regular day as far as the desert is concerned. Her house is in a mess and she has some dome shaped spider webs by her bed(domed as in going up, there is no wind or current in the room, just spider webs doming up, a rather scary house. Well i was getting tired so i decided to take a nap. I asked her if i could sleep in one of the rooms in her house, she said yes and told me to go to the first room on the right. i walk in and it is messy as the rest of the house is, but this room has almost an aura of spook to it. In it there appears to be a shrine with some Buddhist pictures, one of the current dhali lama and one of the past one( sorry if i misspelled that). Some of you may know what im talking about but those who don't imagine, there were some other pictures of some other people. As i looked at the pictures i had the feeling that the people were not around anymore ( as in deceased). well after looking around for a bit, i lay down to sleep. after sleeping for a while i woke up and i realized that the room had grown noticeably colder(she has no air conditioning) after i noticed that i felt a sharp blow to my stomach. i look around rather scared and there was nothing there anywhere. I have no medical problems that might cause this and i don't believe that anything popped as i would have noticed by now. I have had some other ghost experiences before. when i lived in oceanside, by escondido, in California, there was an old lady ghost who lived in my room she was friendly. she liked to open my window. now to give that story a little bit of credit the window was one of those with a bolt, and if anyone can explain to me how that kind of window can come unbolted in the middle of the night by its self id like to hear it. well im not sure what to think about the phantom kicker id appreciate any sincere replys about it. my e-mail is sandsufer69@hotmail.com

Wen i was younger i never liked the dark but my parents made me turn my light off anyway. i had one brother, he was younger than me. My mum put me to bed one night and left my door slightly open. I had an old wooden bed where you could see through the gap in the headboard. I was asleep for ages and then i woke up. I reached onto the floor to get my juice cup and as i came back up i peered through the gap in my headboard. I noticed that my door was open more and as i looked harder, there was a short figure standing looking at me. it was too short to be my mum and my brother was in his cot. it sounds stupid i know but it kinda looked a bit like bart simpson. it just wouldnt stop staring at me and it was grinning. i began to think that it was a ghost. i was to afraid to move so i just shut my eyes and fell asleep. Another night i needed the loo so i went. i'd had an awful lot to drink and i think i got out of bed about 4 times to go across the landing to the bathroom. i needed to go again so i got out of bed and began walking across the landing but i stopped still. there was someone or something stood at the top of the stairs. it looked dark and it looked as if it was bald but it really scared me so i quickly backed off to my room. i never believed in ghosts but sumtimes now i still worry at night!
