I was raised and lived with ghosts, demons, whatever, until I went off to WW II at age seventeen. These entities did nothing emotionally of physically harmful which has lasted throughout my life; they just spent fifteen or sixteen years harassing me! Since I don't know how much space I have here, this will be story #1.

The house where I was harassed did not haveany of the the traditional reasons for being haunted. It was built, in the period of time following WW I, as a doctor's office. When the lot on where it stood was to be used for a public building, my father bought the house and moved it about two blocks and made it our family home. One would almost call this house, "tiny". It would have fit inside of a square which was sixteen feet on a side. My father built on to it as time passed, but only the original part was haunted. Dad dug a basement under the original house and it was never haunted either. There were no bones of burials dug up when the basement was dug either. It wasn't built on a grave yard.

I was born in 1926, and the house was moved in the spring of 1927 or 28. I no longer remember the year I was tol;d that it was moved. I, and mother and dad, slept in a bedroom on the east side of the house. This room was about eight by ten. My bed was a large baby crib. It was large enough that it was used by me and two sisters until we were five to six years old.

The first memory I have of anything at all are of mother putting me to bed, giving me a yellow medicine (?) out of a three cornered bottle, covering me up and leaving the room. I would always immediately stand up, after she was gone, and look for my ghost friend!

My friend wold materialize out of nothing into a dark shadowy female shaped figure. She was dressed in a dress which swept the floor and she wore a a dutch type bonnett. She was all black. She carried a candle holder with a single candle which was not burning. She would move toward my crib, not as if she was walking, but sort of flowing. As she neared my crib I would lie down and she would bend ober my crib and look at me, then flow back about half way to the opening into the next room and there would sort of disintegrate.

It seems to me that this occured every night. I wasn;t afraid; she was just part of the world I was learning about. I didn't learn what ghosts were until I was old enough to listen to ghost stories told by my high school baby sitters a few years later. She continued to visit me in my crib until I was between four and five years old and my new sister took over my crib.

There were spirits, ghosts, demons, whatever, in the two other rooms of this house, but my Dutch bonneted lady was never seen any place except the front bed room. I wanted to see her face, but it was too dark beneath her bonnet for me to see it.

In the 1970s I had an opportunity to do a "walk through" of this house. I had not been there since I went off to war in 1944. I was so thrilled to get to see my old house, it had been so long. I didn't even think of goosts & such. When I walked into my old bedroom about which I have written hera, I was immediately aware of my ghost lady. I panicked and immediately left the house! I wish I had not done so. She never did anything except look at me and I believe that she would have materalized once more if I had stayed for a few minutes.
