Hi everyone, and thanks Obiwan for giving us a great site. Here's my story. When I was around eleven years of age, that would have been around '82, I had a best mate called Jeff. Jeff's house was famously haunted, (his mum said so and that was enough for us) we had all experienced cold spots and shivers etc in the house, but nothing you couldn't put down to our fertile imaginations. The ghost was apparenty that of the previous tenant, and if memory serves her name was Mrs Hanson or somesuch. Me and Jeff were always winding each other up, and issuing dares to go upstairs or whatever, and the "ghost" became an ongoing gag and thrill. On one occasion, however, we where in the living room, the rest of the house was empty. Suddenly, in the master bedroom above us we heard an incredible crash, like a heavy object being dropped. To my shame, I did a runner, genuinely terrified, and I have no doubt I left poor Jeff cowering in the front room until his parents return. Now this perhaps doesn't seem too weird. What was weird was the appearance, the following day, of a striking blood red stain in the ceiling right where we perceived the crash to have taken place. This stain remained there for years, until eventually Jeffs stepdad replaced the artex with a suspended ceiling, and it was finally covered - that is until a day later when it appeared in exactly the same place! Over the years, Jeff and I lost touch, but did bump into each other recently, and we couldn't help discussing Mrs Hanson. Jeff told me that his mother had eventually seen the apparition walk through the kitchen and out the back door, and nothing strange had happened in the house since.
