Subject: Re: About poastings...

This past summer I went as a student ambassador the British Isles. While in Ireland the group stayed at a place called "The Killarney Country Club." It was very nice and very hospitable. However, the first night my 3 roommates and I stayed in our room I could tell it was somehow very different from the rest of the country club. This feeling made me very uneasy. I can't really describe it there aren't words for a feeling like that. I couldn't sleep and kept staring into the corner of the room as if that were the problem. My friend asked me what was wrong and I told her "I really don't have a good feeling about this room." She was a bit puzzled but kept telling me it was nothing. No one else had any feelings about the room. I slept with my friend that night for uneasiness of sleeping alone in that room.

We went out into the country side the following day and I had forgotten all about it. When we came back to the country club we went swimming. I came back early and found one of my roommates talking to another of our friends who was staying in another room. I wanted to change and so I sent them out into the hall while I went to change in the bathroom. I didn't mention that the other friend happened to be a boy and all my friends r always ready for a practical joke which is the reason that even though I was going in the bathroom to change, I still made them leave the room completely. I could hear them talking softly out in the hallway and so I wasn't thinking about the uneasiness of the night before. I locked the door and went about changing as usual. Suddenly just as I was completely nude the door to the bathroom flew open with a loud bang! I screamed and shocked, slammed the door closed and relocked it. I quickly dressed and came tearing out of the bathroom into the hall screaming all manners of curses at my roommate who was startled at my rage. I accused her of opening the door on me for a joke and yelled that it was not at all funny. She insisted she hadn't gone into the room at all and that she was in the hall talking to our guy friend the whole time. I didn't believe her so I found our friend and asked him. He seemed utterly confused and confirmed that my roommate was with him in the hall the entire time. He said that they had heard the door slam and me scream but didn't know what it was all about. I didn't know what to do so I tried to make sense of what happened. I remembered distinctly locking the door from the inside when I went to change and so I checked the door. There was no way to unlock it from the outside. I remembered also relocking the door after it was opened which told me that somehow it had been unlocked. I was frightened and began to recall my feeling of dread from the night before. I told my other roommates but no one could make the least sense of it. I believe it was the result of some unseen force in that room. I had heard of hauntings and did as I still do believe in "ghosts." I have also heard of poltergeists caused by troubled teens which would seem fitting considering the room was filled with teenaged girls. I haven't been able to further research the history of the hotel but intend to do so in the near future. Ireland is filled with haunted spots after all so it is quite posable that it could in fact be haunted. Perhaps one day I will know, or perhaps my search is in vain but I will never forget what happened that is for sure!
