I was reading some of the stories on this site and it made me feel a lot better that other people, besides me,have had some bizarre experiences. It prompted me to tell the TRUE tale of what I SWEAR was my haunted apartment.

I moved there in February of 1997, with my roommate at the time. When we moved there we both thought it was the most wonderful little place... I slowly began to change my mind however. It didn't start right away but about 3 months after we moved in. I remember it was usually when I was the only one home. One weekend when I knew that she wasn't coming back into town for a few days, I put the chain lock on the door and went into my room. I always close my bedroom door after me, just out of habit. I was reading a novel and I thought I heard the chain rattling and didn't think much of it except that she'd probably be pissed that I locked her out... but then it stopped. So, I dismissed it and continued reading. Then I heard footsteps in the hallway outside my door (her bedroom is next to mine so this is not uncommon-except that she wasn't home). I remember thinking that she did somehow manage to get in with the chain lock on the door and wondered how the h*ll she could! ! possibly have done it! Then right as that thought finished (I was contemplating getting up and checking for myself) something banged on my door really loudly-so loud in fact that I jumped-and the handle rattled and the door flung wide open. I kid you not. Scared? OHHHH yes. Anyway, since it was about 3am and Stephen King is not the man to read in that situation, so I put my book down and I tried to settle my nerves by turning the lights on in my room and went to sleep.

After that it was relatively quiet except for a few minor things like sounds of knocking coming from the closets... and then nothing for about a year....

When it began again, it had been relatively quiet (I say relatively because I still heard things but neither of the other 2 people that were living with me did so I attributed it to imagination) until about a month before we moved from that place. It's like my "friend" didn't like the idea that we were leaving and decided to mess around with the electronics. I remember 3 seperate incidents that happened when I was home alone AND/OR when other people were around... one was the t.v. I turned it off because there was nothing good on, walked out of the room and came back in time to watch it turn itself back on. That scared me pretty good and I went running into my roommate's room. Just when I forgot that event (maybe a week later) I came home and nobody was there. Nothing out of the ordinary there. I no sooner put my books and stuff down when my boyfriend's CD player turned itself on loudly, in the other room. (And YES, I checked the alarm to make sure he didn't accidently! ! reset it somehow, and NO, it wasn't on)... the last incident that I remember in my cute little haunted apartment was the cold breeze. It didn't matter what time of year it was, or where I was in the room, but for a few days before and a few days after any strange event, I always felt a cold breeze blowing through my living room that my roommates never felt unless they were right beside me. And folks, I mean COLD.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I thought it was really spooky.
