Lived in an older two-story home on a hill in an older section of Maryland Heights, Missouri. The house was divided in half to allow for two seperate living areas. These two areas were connected by a walk way which also led to the basement/wash room and afforded another bedroom towards the rear of the basement. My great foster grandparents always lived on one side of the house and at various times, five of their gernerations including some unknown older couple occupied the other half of the house and a younger Uncle had occupied the basement bedroom, some at the same time and some not.
What I know is that my foster Great Grandparents ( who were very religious) were always aware of strange "goings on" but chose not to go into detail other than to reaffirm those of us that thought we were losing out minds. They lost many a piece of china when the cabinet doors would fly open and the china would fly out both in front of them and at times when they were in other rooms. The cross that hung above their bed was frequently turned upside down.
All of us at one time or another clearly heard our name called from the basement but upon checking it out-no one was there. The "voice" always seemed familiar to us and therefore we were certain it was another family member. Items would disappear from one side of the house and reappear on the other but not immediately-it would often be about the time you gave up hope of ever locating it. On one evening, my foster sister and I who shared one side of the house(well beyond the puberty years), and were night people, had just finished cleanin the kitchen spotless. Within minutes after leaving the kitchen to watch some television in the next room, I returned to the kitchen for a drink, only to find a cross/neclace which had been lost weeks earlier on the other side of the house, lying right in the middle of the perfectly empty ,clean kitchen table.
There was an "atmosphere" to the house that was absolutely depressing and yet it was "difficult" to talk yourself into leaving. My sister and I made a vow not to leave the other alone, especially at night. Lights would flash, music would be turned off and on via a radio and if we were playing Lp's, the needle would often be "pushed" across the album. In the upstairs a rocking chair could often be heard rocking and yet there was no chair up their. Insects (bees) somehow got into the upstairs enmasse but fairly quickly died. On nights when I was unfortunately left alone, I would often "see" a black figure coming from the kitchen, through the living room and into one of the bedrooms. Because the bedrooms did not have doors but rather drapes hung, I would also see the drapes move as if a breeze blew through. Other things happened which I have only spoken of to my husband because they were SO horrible that I find it nearly impossible to believe and yet had to tell someone or go insane. As I said, every one that spent time there was aware of events which could not be explained by logical, normal circumstances. These people were of varying ages and beliefs. Some would acknowledge but not go into detail as if discussing it would cause something worse. Some of us were trying to find the answers and some would quite simply avoid. When I tried to get the family to search for help and the history of the house or land, they vehemently opposed the idea for fear that we may cause harm. One friend who was of the Eckinkar(?) belief and supposedly capable of out-of-body experiences tried to "rid" or meet and explain the entity had no success. I lived in the house for an entire year, working nights in order to avoid what I felt was the hardest part of the day to deal with this, before I totally lost my cool and "screamed" out my resentment at what was going on. As soon as I finished my tirade, the water pipes blew which were right where I was standing. Shortly there after I married a man just so I could get out of this house. Needless to say the marraige did not last but that seemed a piece of cake to handle in comparison. I have sinced moved out of the state and have no idea if the house stands. Whatever it was-it was pure evil !
