Subject: Deceased relatives

To ease into the group I thought I'd tell merely a simple story that I KNOW really happened as it occured to other individuals at the same time. I've copied it from a letter I sent to someone else regarding deceased relatives - so please forgive if I have included something I should have snipped.

I have had several dreams regarding deceased relatives, but only one experience that was witnessed by others. When I was about 12 my grandmother died. She had been very ill for a number of weeks, but was actually doing better. I was at school on the field during PE and thought I saw her standing at the top of a path that led to my neighborhood - next to her was a man I THOUGHT at the time to be my uncle (who was still alive). (I later found out that my grandfather whom I had never met looked EXACTLY like my uncle when he died.) Anyway, when I returned to my classroom after PE I was informed that she had indeed passed away and i would need to take all my texts with me for a week. About 20 YEARS later my brother and i were discussing her death and I told him what I thought I had imagined or seen. He informed me that I was not the only one who had seen her. He was in a different school when she died and could have sworn he saw her in the hall. He had also been told by one of our cousins that he too had seen her at his job site (1000 miles away) and that his brother (my other cousin) had also thought he had seen her on the day of her death outside his dorm hall (1600 miles away). Our conclusion? This woman was a very vibrant, family-oriented, spiritual, incredibly amazing woman... always had been... she had always been an incredible source of strength for all the people around her. We truly believe that she came to visit each one of us grandkids on the day of her death. None of the other adults ever mentioned seeing her, but us grandkids truly feel blessed by her visit. I am, by far, the strongest believer in 'the unusual' out of all my cousins and brother, was the youngest and a very fanciful kid, and yet, they saw her too - and my cousins were both young adults at the time. So, go figure. CJ (aka MomMole)
