"My Ghost Cat" My cat Kashmir was my baby, I found her as a kitten in a rainstorm and rescued her. She only loved me, tolerated others. When we moved to Colorado we stopped by my parents on the way. She was also very fond of my dad. For some reason she pitched a big fuss when I tried to pack her up for the trip and so the decision was made to leave her at my parents (along with another cat, we had 5). A year or so later, my parents called me and said that she disappeared 3 weeks ago. Being out in the country, a dog, coyote or something probably got her. I was, and still am upset by this, and feel huge amounts of guilt. We, my husband and I, recently moved back to Dallas, Texas (which is where I'm originally from). The duplex we are renting has a very eerie feel to it and the back of the house where the bedrooms are is always ice cold, even in August. One night I felt kitty footsteps on the waterbed. I could even tell they were sending out little "waves" from the weight. We have 2 other cats so I was thinking it was one of them, but then I realized that they didn't like coming in the bedroom so I opened my eyes to seem what was up and there wasn't anything there. The first couple of times this happened I thought I was dreaming because my subconcious was telling me to relax that that was just Kashmir checking up on me. A couple of weeks later it came to light that my husband was feeling it to. I told him what I thought it was and he didn't think I was nuts or anything (for once). He was also thinking our other cat who disappeared was visiting us as well (Maverick) because we would hear a kitty sneeze that sounded like Mav (he was always sneezing). I was away on a trip this weekend and Shawn told me that first night I was gone that he felt the footsteps on the bed and said "Kashmir, mommy won't be home for a couple of nights" and the footsteps disappeard. I hope she isn't gone for good. It is kinda of weird but I'm getting use to it and like knowing that my animals are around even after death, just like people.
I know this may not seem like much, but every word is true.
