story My whole "ghost" experiance happened when I was about 10 or 11. I had just moved to Richfield, Utah, and had been living in my new house for a few weeks ( that's about the best estimate I can give). My experiance didn't last that long. Maybe about two weeks at the most. My family consists of ( from oldest to youngest) My mother, my father, and my two brothers, Jason and Doug. Jason was around the age of 15 and Doug was 13. Doug and I alwaysgot in fights ( as brothers and sisters naturally do) and hardly got along. Since Doug was older than me, I never dared to try any tricks on Doug, and therefore, never did any tricks on him.
My house could be described as a long trailor house, except without weels. My room was way down by the living room and dining room ( in the front part of the house. Next to the dining room was Doug's room ( keep in mind that this was a long skinny house, so their wasn't really a hallway). Across from Doug's room was the kitchen, and to the left of his room ( if your facing his door) is the skinny doorway that leads to the backporch, and is used as the laundry room. Next to the kitchen is the family room, and in the family room, to the far wall, is the door to my parents' room, and also to Jasons' room and the bathroom. This information is important for you to understand in the story. Our house really is quite small, and since it id so skinny, the house is quite long ( I hope you can understand that. We have a long house, but yet it is cluttered, especially with all the furniture).
Now, to get on with the story. Since it was a school night for my brothers and me, and my mother gets up at the same time to make our lunches, get us to school, etc. we all go to bed at the same time. My dad gets up around 4:30 in the morning to get ready for work ( he was a radio guy), so he goes to bed either at the same time, or earlier. One night as I was sleeping, I was awaken to the sounds of footsteps outside my door. I usually leave my door open a crack, I went to see who was out there. When I checked no one was there. I looked at my clock to see if it was my dad, but it was still too early for him to get up. I think I remember the time being somewhere around 2:00 in the morning. Since all of the lights were off, and I didn't see anyone, I figured it was just my imagination. As I closed my eyes, I heard the footsteps again, except they seemed to be wondering the halls. I looked opened my door all the way this time, but as soon as I did, the footsteps stopped, and ( you guessed it) I still didn't see anyone. I ignored it and went back to sleep. Apparently, I wasn't the only that heard the wondering footsteps. The next morning when every one was up, and eating breackfast at the table, Jason said he heard footsteps last night. I was surprised that I wasn't the only one who heard them. I asked Jason, " You heard the footsteps too?" Doug responded that he hadn't heard anything. At that time, I was extremely fascinated by ghosts. I was reading all sorts of ghost experiances, and had always fantised about it happening to me, but never really expecting it to happen. I was thrilled to know that something actually happened to me. A couple of nights later I heard the foorsteps again, but I don't remember if I was scared or excited. The next morning, Doug had an experiance of his own. He explained that someone had knocked on his door. He opened his door only to find that no one was there. He closed it and went back to sleep. He heard the knock again. Angry that someone was disturbing his sleep ( sorry for the pun) he went to Jason and told hime to quit knocking on his door. Jason responded that he didn't even know what Doug was talking about. Doug went back to sleep a few minutes later when he heard the knock again. Frustrated, Doug barged into Jason's room and told him to knock it off with the knocking. Jason promised he didn't do anything. Doug angrily went back to bed and didn't have any more disturbances during the night. Since I never did any practical jokes, Doug didn't bother going to me during the night. But the next day he asked me if I had knocked on his door during the night. Obviously, I answered no.
I only heard the footsteps a few times, and then theysoon disappeared. Doug din't hear any more knocking on his door during the night, but his stereo would switch stations by itself. That happened for a while, but soon died down and finally disappeared.
Well, that was my ghost story. After a few weeks, we didn't any more strange phenomina at my house. And I haven't ever since then. I have always believed in ghosts, even before this. There was never any proof that this phenomina was in fact, not real. I mean, how could it be? There are so many people that witness these things, I don't see how you couldn't belief these things. Some people say it's all in your head. It's kind of hard to belief that your violently shaking bed, or things flying around the room, or a sudden chill in the air, or books falling from the shelf, one by one, is all in your head. I have asked people if they belief in ghosts. Most of them have said no, but they have said that they belief in spirits. A ghost is a form of a spirit. You can't say you belief in a spirit, but not a ghost. They are the same thing. If you believe in a spirit, you have to belief in a ghost. I hope you enjoyed reading my story. This experiance has made my beleif in ghosts concrete.
