I stayed with my mother for an extended period of time after the breakup of my marriage. She had, over time, told me about ghostly happenings within her residence. I am a believer of the supernatural world, but listened to her words somewhat hesitantly....until....perhaps the second night, I lay in bed, and began to doze...suddenly, quite out of the blue, a deep, somewhat hoarse sounding, male voice litterally spoke out of nowhere. It uttered only one word...OLA...which means hello in Spanish....the voice came from my bedroom doorway....I was quite stunned to say the least, and found sleeping very difficult that night. Several nights later, as I lay there falling asleep, I felt a pressure on the side of my bed, exactly as if someone was sitting on the side of the bed.....this happened several times over a span of several months...In addition, in the middle of the night, a huge CRASH was heard in the living room...it sounded as tho a huge potted plant had been lifted hi! ! gh into the air and dropped to the floor....I literally jumped out of bed and ran to the living room...yet all was quiet and each physical object unmoved. I was becoming unnerved, to say the least. I then found that as I sat watching TV at night, the front door handle, immediately adjacent to where I was sitting, would begin to turn, as if someone was trying to open the door from the outside. I would always lock the door as a safety measure, but it was certainly evident to me that someone or something was turning the handle. Gathering courage, I would get up and open the door, only to find noone there. In addition, we have an enclosed,screened in patio entrance which leads to the front door. There is a screen door that allows entrance into the patio area. On more than one occasion I would be asleep, when quite suddenly, I would hear the screen door open and shut, and sense someone walking thru the patio area and up to the front door. Now please understand that my bedroom wind! ! ow is adjacent to this patio area, therefore I can both see and hear anything that goes on within that enclosed space. At the sound of the screendoor opening I would pop up and take a darting look into the patio area....again I would see noone...then I would get up, turn on the patio light, and physically search the area...still nothing. Another time, while watching TV, I heard the screen door open, then several seconds later someone was trying to open the front door....I inquired from within as to who was there....but received no reply....I then opened the door, quite full of anxiety, only to find noone standing there.....I've also encountered an eerie "coldness" within the house...accompanied by a presence.....truthfully, it unnerves me....
My mother has seen and heard much more than this...her room seems to be the major location for activity, yet, as I have just described, the encounters noted above are true and real. My mother visited a psychic who indicated that she did indeed have several presences within the house. I also discovered that an old Spanish couple lived there prior to my mother purchasing the home.
You can call me a coward if you wish, but I had a very difficult time staying there alone.....it was kind of like always waiting for the other shoe to fall...wondering if and when something strange was going to occur. It was a relief to finally leave there. My mother seems more content with such going-ons.
I've had experiences from time to time, such as seeing visions of my grandfather who passed away 35 years ago.....but this and others occurred outside of this house, in another location, another time.
Yet these things did actually happen. And I hope I have allowed you to visit a different world, a world out of the norm, but just as real as the norm. And to each and everyone one of you, I bid you good night.
