I worry a little about sounding like a complete lunatic, but you'll have to take my word that these things are the way they happened; no embellishment, etc. Obviously if you're reading this you already have some curiousity about the like-- I would say the same for myself, but frankly it scares me so I generally try to keep my distance :) Stories I dig, but first hand experiences; no thanks. However, I have had a few, as have friends, many of them involving a dorm at my old college.

The dorm is called Newcomb, and I'd heard things about it but never experienced a thing personally until Dec. of 1990. I was driving on campus a little after 11 p.m., and noticed how dark everything was. Usually the stadium lights were on, or offices, or something, but it was exceptionally dark that night. It was Christmas break, I was going home to TX the next day. Then I drive past Newcomb and notice that a 1st floor corner room is brightly lit-- it was a little strange, but I assumed the cleaners or security had forgot to turn it off. After break, I ran into my friend Geoff who works for security and teased him about them leaving the lights on. He looked at me kind of quizzically and said, "you must have the wrong day" ... I said no, it was the 16th, the night before I went home, I'm certain... he asked exactly what time and I repeated it, and was more than a little shocked at his response: "That's not possible. We shut down the generator at 6p.m." So YOU do the math......

Oddly enough, about the time of this conversation with Geoff, same day or so, I drove by the dorm and noticed my ex-boyfriend's windowshade was up and the desklamp was on. Knowing he and his roomie weren't due back for several days, I guessed they'd got back early and went to knock. Before I had a chance, a neighbor said "They're not back till next week" -- I said no I saw the light on and checked but it was locked. Over the next several days, I checked multiple times (I KNOW for a fact no one else was staying there--) and the shade was always in some new level of up or down-ness, and the light went on and off. I should note that their room was 3 down the hall from the lit-up one. In addition the bathroom across from their room had a chronic problem of faucets coming on by themselves. Happened to my ex- and the next year someone told me the plumber had been called to check it many times and it kept happening.

Anyways, I'm sure I'll post again at some point with a few scarier tx experiences. if you have any questions, feel free to email me...
