story Obiwan, I submitted my story to another website before I found out about yours. (Brianbet@camallot.com ) "Ghosts-page that goes bump in the night". This is a Ouija board story. Hope you like it. I thought I would submit it to you because you have a cool website.

MY TRUE OUIJA BOARD EXPERIENCE

Even though I am open-minded about paranormal phenomena, I am somewhat skeptical about the Ouija board. I bought one of those boards when I was 18 so I've had it around for years. It never really worked to my satisfaction, but there was one time when I believed it really worked and I'll never forget that incident.

I was living with a roommate in an apartment three years ago. She had her brother and two kids that she was baby-sitting staying over that weekend. We were just hanging out in the early evening in our living room when I decided to take out my Ouija board and play with it to scare the kids. My roommate and her brother were game so we put our fingers on the message indicator in the spirit of fun. I thought we were going to be creative and pretend to conjure up an evil being to tell us evil things and scare the kids. But my roommate became serious. My roommate became adventurous and decided to contact her cousin who died four years earlier. I said sure, why not. I did not ask the details surrounding the death of her cousin because I did not take it seriously and was not expecting good results anyway. The five of us were just sitting around, staring at the board, and waiting for something to happen when I decided to give up. All of the sudden we started to smell something burning. One of the kids asked if we had something in the oven. I said no. I went over to the kitchen but there was nothing there to be concerned about. I went to the bedrooms and bathrooms. Nothing. I went back to the living room and there was that burning smell again. I thought it was odd because I had never smelled that kind of odor before. It was different. We did not know where it was coming from but it was around us. I looked over to my roommate who at this time was quiet and pale. I asked what was wrong. She told me that her cousin, a male, died at the age of 10 of third degree burns in a hospital. The boy died because of a freak accident during a family barbecue. Then the smell suddenly disappeared. We were stunned. The two kids freaked out and began crying. I took control of the situation and calmly told them that it was his way of letting us know that he was there and that we should acknowledge him. All I could do was to remain calm but inside I was unnerved and excited at the same time because I could not believe this kind of paranormal phenomenon has finally happened to me.

I never played with the Ouija board after that and I since moved on. I kept in contact with my old roommate and we would talk about the incident. I asked her what made her decide to try to contact her dead cousin, and she said it was because that night was the anniversary of his death and she wanted to see if the Ouija board worked!
