Subject: Ghostie diary..a long story

Hello All;
I am, for the most part, a lurker (bowing head in shame) someone recently asked
me about ghosts in Boston and that question got me to looking for my ghost
diary. I started keeping one when I was hunting down all manner of ghosties in
my late teens/through mid twenties (the ability to drive was key in my
prompting). Anyway I went back to the first entry which was when I was 19,
thought I would share with you what got me heading out looking for spirits....
As I am now, back then I was a dedicated runner, or is it an obsessed
runner... anyway, I ran x-country and one of my favorite courses is a
state park that overlooks the Long Island sound, it's really very beuatiful.
Anyway I went running there every Saturday, this morning was what I call a
perfect morning, October, about 45 degrees raining and foggy. Well I went
through the first part of the course easily enough it skirts around the picnic
area, I didn't see anyone, was just happy being rained on. The second half of
the course winds it way through the back of the park, you head up a very steep
hill and at the top there is a huge meadow, the course goes around the meadow
for about a mile or so, then circles back through the picnic area. When I
finally chugged my butt to the top of the hill, I stopped and took a good look
at the view, there were puddles and knee high grass, a real ankle breaker, I
jumpped right into the first puddle and headed out. In about 10 steps I got
the nastiest feeling, like I was being watched, I thought about just turning
around and going back down the hill, but I thought "hey its only a mile, I can
blast out of here." I went ahead, the feeling of being watched got even worse,
I thought maybe there was a creep in the woods and just picked up the pace,
there was a real weird smell too (I thought maybe it was my sweaty sneakers) it
was heavy, like the smell of the air after a good lightening storm, THATS when
I decided to go back the way I came, I turned around and stopped, facing the
meadow. I looked at the top of the hill and I thought I saw someone standing
there, and it looked like a large human, he was most definately NOT a runner
and I thought "I don't think so" I turned around and started hauling some ass,
and I heard a strange sound, a rustling, that kept getting louder, I looked
behind me expecting to see a person running behind me, the meadow, the grass in
the meadow started laying down in huge waves, this thigh high grass was just
laying down, not like a person walking through grass would move the grass in
small areas, this was huge waves. The waves moved across the field, and
stopped at the path. At this point I had just stopped and watched, and decided
I really did need to go home and purchase some pampers for myself, I was pretty
much out of the meadow , I started walking the path, looking around making sure
no one was going to jump out at me, when I got within 20 feet of the exit on
that part of the trail, there was (what I think) a rushing of air around me, at
least thats what it sounded like, and I felt immobilized (hard to explain) the
noise and the power of what was going on around me stopped my movement, then I
fell forward, and I started to crawl along the path, its strange how when you
think of yourself in danger you switch into a different mode, I didnt care what
was around me or in the woods or anything, I crawled out of there, and it felt
like there was a weight on my back, everything I did was in slow motion (it
seemed) I got off the path and back into the picnic area, everything was the
same, nice rain, nice fog no one around, I had a huge gash on my knee that got
7 stitches, but it was like 5 feet behind me was another world. I thought
maybe I got hit by some strange weather thing, but what kind of makes me not
believe that is the guy at the top of the hill when I turned around, I got such
a sense of fear when I looked at him (still do) I also havent heard of too many
tornados in that area anyway .
Jut thought I'd share a little bit, sorry it took forever..
