story I am probably the youngest person to type a story on this board, but I have heard and seen some pretty terrifying things in the 11 years I have existed on this planet.
I have this friend, Sean, who I can't exactly call a boyfriend, isn't just a regular friend either. I have never known him to lie to me in the eight years I have known him. This is the story he told me:
Sean has an aunt in New York. She lives in an old house with her 2 daughters and husband. Sean was about 5, his older sister was 8, and his younger brother was 2. Sean and his siblings went up to visit their aunt in New York along with their parents.
The day his family got there, Sean's older sister, Katie, wanted to play a board game. She was short when she was eight, so she couldn't reach the games as they were on a high shelf in an upstars room that was kept locked.
Katie and Sean's dad noticed they had a board game that was kept in the locked room. When he asked where they got the game, Sean told his dad the lady in the blue dress got it for him. Sean's dad, taking the statement about the lady in the blue dress as a result of an active imagination, assumed someone had forgotten to lock the room's door. But, when the door was checked, Sean and Katie's dad found the door was tightly latched from the inside. The only ones with a key were Sean's aunt who lived there and her husband. When Sean told me this part of this story, he said he remembers a chill in the air when he saw the woman in the blue dress.
The next day was a warm spring day and Sean remembers Katie and him wanting to go out on the back porch, which was old, like the house. It hadn't been used in a while, so when the two asked, their aunt said no. Katie still wanted to go out there. Once again, Sean and Katie saw the Lady in the blue Dress. She told them not to go out there. Katie and Sean listened to the Lady. A few hours later, Sean and Katie's mom went out there to get something from the yard and found that most of the boards on the porch were rotten.
That night, Sean told me, he was sitting at a table coloring in his dinosaur coloring book when he felt a chill in the air and something tugging at the leg of his pants.
Recently, remembering the sequence of events that happened that spring weekend, Sean decided to do some research on the house his aunt, uncle, and cousins live in. It turns out there was a widowed mother and and infant who lived in the house previoiusly. They were playing in on the porch one day when the infant fell through some rotting boards and died when he hit his head. The woman, grief-stricken, commited suicide in the room where the games were kept.
It's a true story, every word of it. I swear.
