I attended the Sewanee Summer Music Festival from 1989-1992. The music festival is connected with The University of the South and we used all of the facilities. The first summer I was there, I was not aware that there were ghosts, I did not even believe in ghosts. In summer of 1989, the college girls were housed in Johnson Hall. I lived on the top floor in a private room. I would wake up in the middle of the night, and my lights would be on. One time my radio came on for no apparent reason being that it was 3 am. However, the next summer, 1990, is when many wierd things began to happen.

Me and some of my friends from the music camp began to hang around some of the college students who were at Sewanee for summer school. They told us of many supernatural experiences and they told us of the "headless gownsmen" which I have never seen personally. It is funny though, a group of music campers decided to try and find the headless gownsman one night and they all got poison ivy from head to toe.

First off, Guerry Hall which has the auditorium in it is really not an old building considering that most of the buildings are over 100 years old. Many times I would literally feel someone standing beside me or behind me. A toilet flushed by itself in the bathroom and I was the only one in there.

Cleveland Hall is a dorm that we stayed in in 1991. I came in one night and got into bed. My two roomates were already asleep. I looked up and at the foot of my bed stood a young woman who was really pale. She was dressed in sort of a 19th century fashion. She was smiling at me. I really wanted to talk to her but I have heard that it might not be a good idea. I closed my eyes and looked up again and she was gone. The next morning, my roomates woke me up and they were complaining that their violin cases had been opened and that all of their music was strown across the floor. They blamed me for it but I did not do it. The next night, the same thing happened to a girl that lived across the hall. Me and my roomates named the ghost Luvertis.

1990. One night, I was laying in my bed trying to fall asleep. All of the sudden, I felt a warmth in my right ear. I could feel that someone was whispering in my ear. I could not make out anything that was being said. Then, it felt like someone had gotten in the bed with me and then, a force pushed my head up against the wall, the bed was against the wall. I then ran out into the hall, freaking out, but everyone was asleep so I got the courage to go back into my room. I finally convinced myself that it was a dream. The next morning I awoke with a HUGE goose egg and a bruise on my forehead. The same thing happened to a music camper the next summer.

I have many more stories, but I have run out of time for the moment.

I will post another soon.
