Finally I am posting a ghost story!! My aunt seems to be very sensitive to the supernatural things. She has had some wierd things happen to her. This is one of the first things she ever told me. As far as I know this is a true story.

After my aunt had her first child, she and her husband stayed in Louisiana in some small country town that I can't remember the name of. Anyway, there was a lady who attended their church whose husband had just died. The woman invited my aunt to stay in the house while she stayed with some relatives. My aunt assumed the lady wanted her to stay there because the memories of her deceased husband were too painful and she didn't want the house to be unlived in. The lady told my aunt that they didn't need to bring anything with them except their clothes because she was leaving the house fully furnished. So my aunt and her husband agreed to stay in the house. My aunt had known little of the deceased man except that he was supposedly very mean to his wife and strict on his daughters. When they moved in my aunt noticed that the woman had left all her husband's medications still in the medicine cabinet. The medicine cabinet was stocked full of medicine, mostly prescription. All the lady's and her husband's clothes were also still in the closet.

Soon after they moved in, the first weird thing occurred. They were out in the yard burning trash (hey this is the country) and the baby was inside asleep in his crib. My aunt said that the trash was well-contained in the middle of the yard with her husband standing next to it attending it. All of a sudden, a line of fire shot out from the trash making a path around the house as if it was following a gasoline trail. They both ran behind trying to stamp it out. As soon as they got one line stamped out another would take off and do the same thing. Finally after putting out about five lines, it stopped and my uncle put the burning trash heap out. He then said to my aunt,"that was the damndest thing! I don't understand it!". Needless to say they didn't burn trash in the yard anymore!

Two days later the next weird thing happened. My aunt was washing dishes in the kitchen which had a window that looked out into the yard. She heard a strange sound so she looked out the window. There was this old metal washtub (hey this is the country!) that was rolling completely around the house. She said the wind wasn't blowing and even if it was how could it lift the washtub up on it side and a make a circle around the house? She said the washtub rolled around the house twice and then stopped. She told my uncle about it and they just looked at each other in disbelief (I would have been out of there!!)

The third weird thing. One night, my aunt and uncle were in the bedroom and they heard the sounds of pots and pans being thrown around in the kitchen. They both rushed in there to see what was going on. When they got in the kitchen, There was a raccoon sitting upright in the middle of the kitchen with the kitchen cabinets close to the floor openlooking right at them! The racoon didn't run away or act like it was afraid, and my aunt said the thing had red eyes. Her husband said that he was not touching the thing. They went back into the bedroom and it went away. At this point my aunt was ready to get the out of there. My uncle said he was not going to let a racoon run him out of the house (despite the fact that the thing had red eyes!!).

The next weird thing. My uncle worked at night and didn't get home until the early hours of the morning. So a lot of the time, my aunt was at home at night with just her and the baby. My aunt's oldest child is completely deaf and he was around 10 months at the time. Well my aunt was in the bedroom with the baby watching tv. When she heard some creaking noises over her head. She looked up and she saw depressions in the ceiling as if someone was walking above her. Even though he couldn't here the creaking, my cousin saw it too and looked up at the ceiling. Well my aunt was so scared, she took the baby and went and sat in the front room until my uncle came home. She told my uncle what happened and they decided to leave that night. There was a long dirt road that led up to the main street. Since they didn't have a car they were going to have to walk to my aunt's father's house. As they were walking down the dirt road, they could hear whatever it was following on the side of the road. When they stopped it stopped, and when they walked it walked. When they got to the main road, it stopped following them. When they got to my aunt's father's house, he told them when they got their clothes the next morning to be sure not to take anything that wasn't theirs, in case the thing came after them in search of the item.

When they told the lady that owned the house what happened to them, she made no comment just shook her head knowingly. My aunt said that she probably wanted proof that she wasn't going crazy, and wanted to see if anybody else experienced anything weird.

Well my aunt's mom and some of her friends went and sat in the house one afternoon to see if anything else strange would happen. They said that the front door flew open and they felt someone run passed them. Then they all ran out of the house.
