This is a true story because it happened to me. I was 26 at the time and just gotten a new job. Along with that job I got a new apartment closer to my new job. My first night in the apartment my best friend came over with a housewarming gift. Jeans did not like the place at all. She told me it gave her the creeps. I laughed it off because I loved my apartment.
The next morning my alarm went off at 6 am and I reached over and hit the snooze button. At 6:10 when the alarm when off, I felt as if someone was watching me. I snapped open my eyes and there at the foot of my bed was a young woman approximately 25-30 years old, long brown hair and dressed in white. I thought I was being robbed so I reached over and grabed my pistol which I always keep on my nightstand when I sleep. When I looked back the woman was gone. I immediately got up and searched the apartment. There were no signs of a break-in and the woman was no where to be found and the alarm was still set.
I tried to shrug it off but it bothered me. I called my friend Jean and my boyfriend to tell them of my experience. I was afraid so I packed several days of clothes and stayed with Jean for one night and my boyfriend two nights.
When I went back, everything was normal for a long time. My boyfriend says he never felt comfortable at the apartment. Once he was watching TV and the lamp in the room next to him began to shake. My cat showed some strange behavior. The cat would get on top of my dresser and howl at night, scaring the crap out of me.
I saw the woman in white once more. This time it was much briefer. She appeared the the same spot, at the same time. This time, strangely, I wasn't scared.
After I was there about four months, my two sisters came for a visit from Florida. The first night there my sisters wanted to communicate with, and hoped to see the woman. We all sat around the kitchen table and we attempted to talk to this spirit. I was watching my sister and all of the sudden her face went pale. I asked her what was wrong and she stated that she could see the ghost down the hall. I jumped up to see from her vantage point but the white lady was gone.
Right after that, we went to bed. My older sister is a night owl and must have the TV to go to sleep. Not that night. She immediately went to sleep. It seemed weird to me and my younger sister. When I got up in the morning my younger sister asked me why I woke her up in the middle of the night. I didn't know what she was talking about. My younger sister then explained that I woke her up and asked her if she was OK. Then my older sister said "you did the same thing to me". I denied it all because I didn't do it. This really scared us. Either I was sleepwalking (something I have never done) or the lady did it.
Well I moved out the next month. She did not follow me to my new apartment. However the next month I found out I had cancer. I had to have surgery to have the cancer removed. I do not remember this, but my mother said that the first thing I said when I returned to my room from recovery was "The ghost was a nurse, she was in the operating room with me".
I haven't seen her since, but I'll never forget her. Several family members and me included think that maybe she was trying to warn me of my illness.
Stange but true.
