story Okay I will start by telling you that I am not a journalist by any means so this story might be a little rough around the edges. But is completely true to my knowledge and those who share my dorm.
I attend Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. There are quite a few stories floating about and I will tell you a few of the most frightening. All of these stories are related to 2 separate dorms on campus Ellis Complex and Yeater Hall, but I will only tell the ones about Yeater in this message.
Story 1
Yeater Hall was built in the early 40's. It has always been a female dorm and I have lived here for the past 2 years. My first year there were only 28 girls living in Yeater and we all lived on the main floor, the upper two floors were padlocked shut and no one could get in. My friend Sarah was the first person to notice the lights. On certain nights you could look out your window and see lights on in a room on the third floor. The first two times it happened Sarah called the front desk and they just told her she was seeing things. It wasn't until some of the campus security guards saw the lights on rounds that things started to get strange. They would see lights, get the keys, go up to the third floor and turn them off. By the time they got back down stairs the lights would be back on again. They finally gave up and left them alone. Every night around 10pm the lights would go on but they would be off by morning. No one really knows why the lights go on and off but they won't open up the 3rd floor no matter how crowded the dorm gets.
Story 2
This story is also about Yeater Hall and involves my friend Sarah. Last year Sarah lived in Rm 137 and she would hear noises coming from the room above her, like the furniture was being moved around. I didn't really believe her until I stayed the night in her room one night and was woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of moving furniture. It really freaked me out and the next day I talked to the Residence Hall Director and we went up to the second floor to see if someone had somehow gotten in there. The door was padlocked and John (the RHD) was the only one with keys and he hadn't been up there since the beginning of the school year. When we reached the room that is above Sarah's we opened the door and were hit in the face with a blast of cold air, we looked around and noticed that all the furniture was stacked on top of each other. The two desks were together with one upside-down on the other and the beds bunked. We took the two desks apart and put the beds on different sides of the room like they are supposed to be.
That night I stayed in Sarah's room again, my roommate and I got into a fight, and again around 1am I heard the sound of furniture being moved around I immediately woke Sarah up and we went to get John. He was in his room and had his keys so we knew no one could have gotten up there. We agreed that we would wait until morning to go up. That morning we met in John's room and went upstairs. As we reached the room and was caught in this deep feeling of dread. John opened the door and looked back at me in amazement. All the furniture was stacked on top of each other again, well to tell the truth this freaked Sarah and me out and we ran back down the stairs and left John to lock the doors. John has no idea how the furniture got moved. He was the only one with keys and he has them with him at all times.
Well that is it for Yeater. I know a couple more but this message is long enough If you want to know anymore about the ghosts of CMSU give me an e-mail and I would be happy to send you some more stories.
