  • Notes: The controversy surrounding this film only served to make it a huge hit; Sharon Stone and Paul Verhoeven still differ over whether the infamous "leg crossing" scene was deliberately shot that way.

  • Notes: From Paul Verhoeven by Rob van Scheers: "He had been asked [to film an episode] on the strength of De Vierde Man; the script HBO had sent him was about a director who threatens his female lead to get her into the right mood for a horror movie. [...] The director was to be played by Peter Coyote and the title of the story was The Last Scene."
